haha, glad to hear Toni's up to fun stuff. Right now I'm feeling really restless...actually been this way for the past couple of days. Taiwan is really fun, but seeing as how I'm not even in class yet and don't know anyone here, I'm kinda just ambling about taipei, taking the subway everywhere..(it's so clean and so fast!)..I realized just how lonely I was when I came across a Friday's and decided it was a good time to have a beer..conversation as follows:
Bar hostess: How many? One more? Me: Uh..no just me. BH (oblivious to my being alone): Have a female friend with you? No girl? Me: No, just me. BH: [pause, as her disbelief sets in...] Good, have a seat! (this seemed a lot more harsh in chinese believe me)
And so I took it, sighing with self-pity. Looking around, everyone was with somebody else. Waaaah! Well, my family's treating me well so I shouldn't have any reason to complain. My aunt and uncle are having a stupid argument, my aunt's trying her best to explain to me what's going on, my uncle's acting like a kid and not answering the phone when she calls, but my aunt assures me he'll be better in a day or two. I take this all in stride, thinking...school starts Monday! School monday! shang ke ba!
oh yeah mike and i had dinner with Yu laoshi and her old tongxue, Meng ming wei did most of the talking -- ooh does that boy love to talk haha! i did a lot of nodding. i don't like how yu laoshi's friend tried to pawn his bike on us, "oh, it's the best price you can get in taipei..great condition"..but otherwise he was pretty cool and really nice.
bye guys please post to this blog that means you hyun and jinsun and whoever else is in on this im sooo lonelyyyyyyyyyyyy |
